The Vicarage Garden

The Old Vicarage at Weare lies on the edge of a ridge overlooking the Cheddar Valley in Somerset, facing out across the moor to the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The house, stables and barns, together with a hard tennis court, lie on a one-and-a-half acre plot.

We arrived in the summer of 2013, together with Rupert our English Pointer, who was later joined by Archie, our rescue Pointer.

We knew we wanted to do a lot of work to each and every area of the house and gardens. We’re always interested in how other people develop and change their gardens, so we thought we’d record and show what we do at The Old Vicarage. It’s a fair sized garden, but not a large estate, so still probably best broken down into sections to explain the changes.
